4worldlovers: Yokomura is a fully renovated traditional Japanese farmhouse built over 150 years ago during the late Edo Period. We offer guests a one of a kind farm to table Bed and Breakfast experience for those looking to experience the Japanese countryside. We have been featured and mentioned in several international media, such as VICE Asia.


Officially re-opened in January 2019, Yokomura is a fully renovated traditional Japanese farmhouse in the idyllic countryside of Yamanashi. Just over an hour from central Tokyo by car or train, the village is a world away from the city. The house itself dates back to the late edo period and is around 150 years old. Built using traditional Japanese carpentry techniques, the house has been fully renovated using mostly sustainably harvested, local material. Fully insulated, the house has an open floor plan on the first floor lets guests make use of the expansive space for events and meals with family and friends.


For groups of 1-5 persons, guests have a private tatami bedroom on the 1st floor and access to the living and dining room, bathhouse and extensive kitchen area. For groups of more than 6 people people generally guests have access to entire property except for our storage space on the 2nd floor

Byron's place was a great escape from the big city. the scenery is beautiful. both the nearby river and the onsen were incredible Byron was a very accommodating host helping us book dinner as well as transportation four our group of 17.

Kaori and Byron were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home! The house is amazing and we especially loved the hot bath they helped prepare for us.

Our group had an amazing stay with Byron! We took a day trip from Tokyo to the countryside and it was absolutely worth it. Byron arranged a private farm to table dinner with a local chef nearby and offered so much kindness to us during our stay!

We also enjoyed their farm fresh eggs for breakfast and took advantage of suggested nearby hikes and spots to check out nearby. We hope to be back on our next visit to Japan!

We had a good time and the house was really charming. It was well decorated with a interesting collections of pictures, paintings and books. Byron was very kind.

We hosted a yoga retreat here and it was a perfect location, the chef was incredible, we did yoga on the field next to the house, took a plunge in the river, and had the most lovely experience. The house is so thoughtful, beautifully curated pieces and art, you can feel a lot of soul was put into the renovation. So close to tokyo but feels like a total escape. I Highly recommend it!
